A large partial shipment refers to a consignment of five or more pallets that must travel more than 750 miles. When freight is picked up by standard LTL carriers, it often goes through a cross-dock facility where it is repeatedly offloaded and stored for several days until a full truckload is assembled. This process can result in long wait times, reclassification of your freight, higher “volume” rates, and potential claims – issues commonly associated with LTL shipping.
